EDEN ACUPUNCTURE

Meet Sarah

I qualified with a first-class Honour’s Degree in Acupuncture and licence to practice Acupuncture, from the renowned College of Traditional Acupuncture, Hatton. I was very fortunate to complete my 3-year degree at this prestigious college. Which was founded by Professor JR Worsley in 1956.

Eden Acupuncture was established in 2009.

Since 2009 when Eden Acupuncture was established, the heart of my practice has been to improve and maintain my patient’s health, to be the best they can be.

Over the years I have treated a wide range of conditions with a special interest in the whole spectrum of mental health conditions and chronic illness such as, Lyme disease, fibromyalgia, Post viral fatigue and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).

I undertake continued professional development training each year as required by my registration to the British acupuncture council. Which ensures a high standard of training, professionalism, and safety protocols. As overseen by the Professional Standards Authority Accredited Register. I am also a member of the British Acupuncture Council for over 10 years.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture needles are not like other medical needles you will have come across. They are very fine, almost hair like thickness. A needle is inserted just under the skin, and most of the time immediately removed. Acupuncture is not about how many needles are used, some of the best treatments are done with only a few needles. The art to five element acupuncture is the individually tailored treatment, based on their uniqueness of every individual.

Moxa

Moxabustion, is used as a very nourishing, warming treatment. Moxa can be used to aid relief from many complaints, as well as promoting well being. Moxa is a herb commonly known as Mugwort,  the refined herb is burnt over an acupuncture point or affected area giving a feeling of warmth and relaxation. Moxa is also used to aid recovery from illness or distress, by strengthening and stimulating the core of our being, our blood and Qi. Thereby increasing our natural healing process.

Cupping

Moving or sliding cupping is a technique that interrogates Gua sha and cups to produce a comfortable and effective way to manage sore, tense muscles.

Pain is caused by stagnation(stuck) energy, this can be due to physical or emotional stress. Cupping increases blood flow to the area therefore encouraging the movement of blood, energy and fluids through a deep gentle massage. This can give relief from pain, tension, stressed muscles and can help the immune system to work more effectively

Initial Consultation & Treatment

Your initial consultation is a comprehensive personal and medical evaluation, which encompasses present health concerns, including any diagnostic tests or examinations you have previously undergone, family health history, lifestyle habits, and systemic functions such as sleep patterns and dietary habits.

This initial consultation also provides a private setting for you to openly discuss any current personal issues or worries in confidence.

In this appointment a series of brief, non-invasive diagnostic assessments will be conducted, prior to commencing your first acupuncture treatment.

All the information provided in this first consultation will go to form your Acuplan, which is a personalised treatment plan, providing a deeper understanding and baseline to review from.

Follow-up Treatments

Follow up treatments will typically last up to one hour, during which we will review the progress you’ve made. These sessions are crucial for ensuring that your Acuplan is effective and responsive to your needs.

Treatments are initially scheduled weekly, or once a fortnight and then once a month or longer, depending on what is needed.

Everyone responds differently to treatment due to the nature of their condition, how long they have had it, and the quality of their energy.

A long standing condition will take longer to resolve.
