25th Anniversary Interview with Managing Director Sarah Stockley
We took a few moments to reflect on the past 25 years, since the beginning of Mavericks hair. This year marks Mavericks 25th Anniversary, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about where they have come over the years and the exciting future that lies ahead.

Once a month one deserving person will be chosen to have the opportunity of having a hair and beauty make over with Mavericks and Katie Aesthetic (@plumpitup_) we want to invite a nominated person that is not a current guest of Mavericks and give a restyle make over, including cutting, colouring or perming and styling, and beauty treatments from plumpitup_ with a goodie bag of products to take away with them.
We started Mavericks 25 years ago in March 1999. We wanted the salon to be different, to bring a city style salon into Alcester, we have experimented with many things, a coffee bar area, an piercing studio, we even had our own boutique in the salon.
We could not done anything without you our guests in the salon, I still remember my first guest that I did in the salon 24 years ago. We have always treated are clients as guests that will always continue. So I thank you so much for your support over the 24 years ,

APPRENTICES REQUIRED- We are now looking for our next apprentices, our new stylists for 2024.
LEVEL 3 BEAUTY THERAPIST REQUIRED- Due to Mavericks Beauty expansion, we are now recruiting for a Level 3 Beauty Therapist
We have had a lot of no shows over the summer period, so to safe guard our teams salaries and our business, we have adopted a new cancellation policy. If an appointment is not cancelled with 48 hours’ notice of the appointment time. We will then charge £10 for each treatment missed. This policy covers both hair and beauty treatments and is £10 per treatment so if you are booked in for a colour, cut and blow-dry that is two treatments so £20. Please be aware that this policy gives us 48 hours’ notice to rebook the appointment time, we have found that without 48 hours the appointment tends to not be taken. Please help us.
As you are all fully aware, our costs have been going up and up, we have made allowance for this, whilst maintaining our high standards of hair, beauty and customer service. But over the last few month, we have been hit by an increasing number of guests not arriving for their appointments, this gives us a loss in turnover,, as we still need to pay stylist wages when guest do not arrive. So as of February, we need to take control of this, and like most businesses that operate a appointment system for example restaurants, we will be introducing a deposit system on all appointments of £10 per appointment. Appointments can still be changed as long as we have 48 hours notice. If you change your appointment without 48 hours notice, or forget your appointment then you will loose your deposit.
Maverick’s now uses Vegan hair care, colour, perm and styling products.
We are now using only the REF and SIM products which are all vegan. We feel that this move allows us to stop harming animals, plus vegan products help with the environment, which is important to all of us. We will also be offering soya milk with refreshments and also a selection of vegan chocolates etc with your refreshments.
