MAVERICKS WELCOMES NEW BEAUTY THERAPIST -STEPH
Steph our new beauty therapist will start with us from Tuesday 30th July 2024. Steph has spent time with Jess and is now ready to get going. Steph will be offering a large range of services.

We have invested in a new coffee machine which turn coffee beans into beautiful fresh coffee. This machine also creates amazing hot chocolate. This is service is included in your hair service. We have also updated our mineral water service; this is available as a free top up service.

MAVERICKS IS GOING PERFUME FREE
At Mavericks we have always, I believe, tried to be the first, or a close second! So with that in mind, our next offering is perfume free, we have joined with a manufacture in Finland called SIM, they only produce either perfume free or naturally perfumed products. This belief comes from owning their own factory in Finland and being fully aware that it takes up to 300 different chemicals to make a product smelly. These chemicals are going onto our skin and due to perfume, we are inhaling them. From this major concern short and long term, they decide to take this non perfume stance. To me this make perfect sense, we are professionals are immersed into this 8 hours a day, 5 days weeks, and we want to safe guard our future, this is also highly important for our guests in the salon, it’s important we ensure a safe environment for you.
MAVERICKS FREE FRINGE TRIM SERVICE.
Because we want all our regular guest to look their best all year round, we offer a in-between cut and blowdry free fringe trim service. This is a no appointment service, just walk in and wait for the next available stylist.But we have had some confusion concerning this service, so here we go; this is available only to regular guest of mavericks that have their hair cut and blow-dried every 6 to 9 weeks. The service is only available free between this time. The free fringe trim, is a trim, anymore than 10mm off is not a trim and will need a full paying fringe service. This is not an appointment service; appointments will be charged.

MAVERICKS CANCELLATION POLICY 2023
We have had a lot of no shows over the winter period, so to safe guard our teams salaries and our business, we have adopted a new cancellation policy. If an appointment is not cancelled with 48 hours’ notice of the appointment time. We will then charge £10 for each treatment missed. This policy covers both hair and beauty treatments and is £10 per treatment so if you are booked in for a colour, cut and blow-dry that is two treatments so £20. Please be aware that this policy gives us 48 hours’ notice to rebook the appointment time, we have found that without 48 hours the appointment tends to not be taken. Please help us.
MAVERICKS LAUNCHES DEPOSIT SYSTEM
As you are all fully aware, our costs have been going up and up, we have made allowance for this, whilst maintaining our high standards of hair, beauty and customer service. But over the last few month, we have been hit by an increasing number of guests not arriving for their appointments, this gives us a loss in turnover,, as we still need to pay stylist wages when guest do not arrive. So as of February, we need to take control of this, and like most businesses that operate a appointment system for example restaurants, we will be introducing a deposit system on all appointments of £10 per appointment. Appointments can still be changed as long as we have 48 hours notice. If you change your appointment without 48 hours notice, or forget your appointment then you will loose your deposit.

DRY CUTTING
We prefer to work on freshly washed hair so that we can we get the best results, and a neater more precise haircut. It’s not possible to achieve this when the hair has already dried into a shape, and we can’t offer you as even-day guarantee but we can cut hair dry if you wish
MAVERICKS HAIRCUT- A MAVERICKS HAIRCUT IS TWO HAIR CUTS IN ONE
Here at Mavericks we use mainly sulphate free shampoos, the reason being is we believe that they are kinder for your hair and scalp. To simplify things sulphate are general foaming cleansing agents, and are used in lots of cleaning products including shampoos. We believe that they over cleanse the hair, taking out all the condition you have put in, and can make a scalp dry, or even stimulate the sebaceous gland and make the scalp oily. There has been talk that they even make the hair thinner than it should be. All our shampoos are sulphate free, they may not foam as much but they still cleanse the hair and scalp, most of the time you still only need the size of the top of your thumb.
MAVERICKS BLOWDRY BAR
As you are aware we have been running a blowdry bar service for the salon. Which is ran by our junior stylist team. Allowing them to gain valuable experience and allowing us to offer our guests a lower cost blowdry at £14.95. This service has been extremely popular and unfortunately, we have struggled to fulfil this service for our regular loyal guests. So, in the future this service will only be available to guests that have a 6 to 9 week cut and blowdry service with us. Blowdrys will be still available to all with our senior team stylists at their normal prices.
SIM SENSITIVE
You may have noticed a new brand coming into the salon recently, the brand is called SIM, the brand comes from Finland. They design and manufacture their own products in their own factory. We have know about SIM for some time now, and have been using for a while. We felt that this is the right time to introduce a new brand that has a different concept and price pionting. The SIM brands are very affordable.
The brand has 4 products brands;
DS– Full haircare and styling range with no perfume for all hair types.
Forme essential– Full haircare and styling range with natural perfume for guest with wavy/curly hair.
System 4– Haircare range for hair and scalp challenges. This range deals with all scalp challenges, dandruff. Greasyness and hairloss. Healthy scalp = Healthy Hair.
Match– These are our new 15 direct high colours for bleached/light hair.
Mix and Match– This is personalised coloured treatment range that we mix for you to refresh and keep on top of your colour at home.
Simplex– This is our new hair mending treatment, mends from within the hair structure.

We can now offer a service where we can mix conditioning colour that will top up your colour at home. It comes in a 200ml pot and you apply after shampooing and rinsing and then leave for 10mins. For those red, copper that can fade its grease, for those guests that want to keep warmth away, amazing.

MAVERICKS BASINS-
We have now basin shower heads that filter the harmful metals etc out of the water including chlorine. These filters also soften the water and regulate the flow and consumption of water. I hope you love the experience of the new softer water.

Forme essentials have been designed by Sim Finland in their own factory in Finland. As you are probably aware, Sim believes in using no artificial perfume in any of their product ranges. Some range have no perfume, some, such as Forme essentials uses the natural ingredients to create a balanced perfume in the products. The range is vegan and gluten free.. The range uses oat oil to moisturises the hair, so is amazing on natural curly or wavy hair. It’s very light on the hair and is a combination of shampoo, conditioner and styling products.
